Si è palato di Alfie, della sua vita e della battaglia che è stata portata avanti senza sosta fino al suo ultimo respiro.

Hanno ucciso un corpo ma Alfie è VIVO, è con noi e ci indica la via da seguire: continuare a lottare per cambiare la Legge. Perché nessuno, mai più, possa sentirsi padrone di decidere che il “migliore interesse” di qualcuno è la morte.

One year later the tragic events that leaded to Alfie Evan’s death, Steadfast Onlus organised the conference entitled “AlfieIsALIVE”.

The event was held on 2nd of May at 7.30 pm UK time, at the Stadio Conference Hall, Via Brunelleschi 12 in Verona.

We talked about Alfie, about his life and the battle that was carried on unabated until his last breath.

They terminated a body but Alfie is still ALIVE, he is with us and shows us the way forward: to continue to fight to change the Law. Because no one, ever again, can feel able of deciding that someone’s “best interest” is death.

“Il mio gladiatore ha deposto lo scudo e si è guadagnato le ali. Abbiamo il cuore spezzato. Ti voglio bene figlio mio.”

Non si possono dimenticare le parole cariche di dolore e di orgoglio che Thomas Evans ha dedicato al figlio Alfie, il 28 aprile 2018, appena salito al cielo dopo lunghi mesi di malattia e battaglie legali.

Non si possono dimenticare le spontanee mobilitazioni di comuni cittadini che, da tutto il mondo, si sono schierati a fianco di Thomas e Kate con affetto e commozione in difesa di una vita da salvare.

Non si possono dimenticare i ripetuti tentativi medici, giuridici e diplomatici messi in campo da esperti professionisti per dare una reale alternativa a quello che veniva chiamato il suo “migliore interesse”: la morte.

Non si può dimenticare che l’Italia ha osato sfidare apertamente l’Inghilterra concedendo la cittadinanza rendendolo a tutti gli effetti nostro concittadino il 23 aprile 2018, in un ultimo estremo tentativo di fermare l’esecuzione.

Non si può dimenticare che… dopo tutto questo… Alfie è salito in Paradiso.
In nome della Legge è stato ucciso. Nessuno potrà essere perseguito per averlo fatto.

Per questo, Steadfast Onlus, organizza la Conferenza intitolata “Alfie VIVE”.

We can’t forget the words full of pain and pride that Thomas Evans dedicated to his son Alfie, on April 28, 2018, just gone up to Heaven after long months of illness and legal battles.

We can’t forget the spontaneous mobilizations of ordinary citizens who, from all over the world, have sided with Thomas and Kate with affection and emotion in defense of a life to be saved.

We can’t forget the repeated medical, legal and diplomatic attempts made by professional experts to give a real alternative to what was called its “best interest”: death.

It can’t be forgotten that Italy dared to openly challenge England by granting citizenship, effectively making it our fellow citizen on April 23, 2018, in a final attempt to stop execution.

One cannot forget that … after all this … Alfie gone up to Heaven.
In the name of the law he was killed. No one can be prosecuted for doing so.
